Design, paper engineering, production and book binding for the first issue of Luxeuse, a bilingual fashion magazine created in collaboration with fashion journalist Babette Radclyffe-Thomas.
The double nature of the publication, edited for English and Chinese readers, is highlighted by the complementary presence of two separate volumes, bound together on their shorter edge.
The books have been organized into seven sections including Past, the five Chinese elements and Future: every part has a specific feel in terms of layout, choice of paper and book design that has been chosen accordingly to the related element and the content of the articles.
Each book can be read separately, but only when the two volumes are opened together – when East meets West – the magazine truly becomes one.
