BIOPHILIA is a papercut work that represent the mutual symbiosis within elements of the natural environment. Bees fly in an intricate garden of plants and flowers cut from the pages of a biographical essay about Swedish botanist Linnaeus.
I created this design in spring 2020, in the deep of Covid lockdown. While almost all humans on Earth were forced to stay still, nature around us continued its business as usual.
Observing blooming flowers and buzzing bees from my garden, I wanted to make a piece to celebrate life at its very core.
